This bedroom required a full makeover for it’s teenage occupant, having been virtually untouched since the 1960’s.
The room was extended into the eave spaces, one of which had been inaccessible and the other difficult to access, and then the entire room was insulated to include acoustic dampening in the floor void, re-boarded and plastered.
To make the most of the new-found space, a customised wardrobe/storage and TV unit was constructed with floor to ceiling sliding doors, then decorated in an NYC style…perfect for a teen with ambitions to travel!
This was previously a small kitchen, and large neighbouring dining room – far too small a kitchen for a family of 5, especially with only 4 plug sockets!
The first job was to remove the stud wall separating the two rooms, and then once a kitchen had been chosen and ordered, the now larger room was gutted, insulated, plastered and a new kitchen and flooring fitted.
Our clients originally called us to raise the levels of their blockwork walls by 2-3 courses, and render ready for a specialist finish.
Once the walls had been decorated by others, we returned to fit these beautiful trellis panels which were stained in a deep mahogany colour.
We then assisted with the planting of new bedding where needed, and the siting of the client’s own statues.
We thoroughly enjoyed this project – a full driveway replacement in rumbled block pavers and sandstone patio laid to the front of the property.
